Flown Lunar Wrist Mirror (1.5x1.5") A polished metal disc (NASA No. SDB 121,00086-001, S/N 1010 engraved on the reverse) that was attached to the outside of Apollo 16 Commander Charlie Duke's EVA spacesuit by a black velcro strap (16x.75") This mirror was worn on all three of his EVAs as indicated on the handwritten letter of authenticity from him included with this item. The strap has a somewhat grayish cast to it. This may be due to moon dust since the strap has never been cleaned since it was worn on the lunar surface (where the dust covered everything). Several different pictures are included in which the velcro strap holding the mirror can be seen on Duke's right wrist. It is believed that this is the first intact lunar surface item ever offered for sale at auction as most have been separated into their component parts over the years. Unique and highly desirable. FLOWN Estimate: $ 15,000 - 25,000
