In 1993, this wrist watch flew to the space station MIR

This watch flew as one of 250 watches as part of the Russian-French mission MIR-Altair with Soyuz TM-17 to the Russian space station MIR. It is approved by a printed and enclosed Certificate of Authenticity #N3 numbered ‘882076’. The certificate bears the octagonal and pentagonal MIR handstamps in violet, the MIR-Altair stamp and crew signatures by Jean-Pierre Haigneré, Vasily Tsibliyev, Aleksandr Serebrov et al. Haigneré was responsible for ten scientific experiments in space during the mission. The white dial depicts the MIR space station, the name of the Russian cosmodrome ‘Baikonur’, the Russian and a French flags, as well as inscriptions in Cyrillic. The watch possesses a Quartz movement and displays hour, minute, second and date. Watch case and pin buckle are of stainless steel and the strap of dark green leather in crocodile leather look.



The watch case is 35 mm in diameter and 10 mm in height. The watch is 36 gram in total weight. The strap is ca. 24 cm long. The watch is overall in good condition with small scratches on the lower side of the watch case. The strap shows clear traces of wear.
