Florence Crane Flowers, Folk-Lore From Far Korea
Florence Hedleston Crane: Flowers and Folk-Lore From Far Korea. (Tokyo: The Sanseido Co. Ltd., 1931), first edition, 92 pages, 45 plates tipped in with tissue guards, black cloth with decorative blindstamping, gilt lettering, and decoration in red, gilt titles on spine, all edges gilt, illustrated endpapers, folio (10.5" x 13"). The beautiful color plates are arranged by months of the year and represent flowers native to Korea, many of which are used for medicines, food, and dyes. Ms. Hedleston consulted with leading university professors for proper identification of the flowers and with Korean locals for the folklore material. About very good condition save for obvious damage to the back board, front hinge just starting, light edgewear to the pages. A classic and interesting work.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
