Contemporary braided horse hair bridle. Made by R.F. Ford (stamped Ford Made on top leather), and shown on page 78 of Horsehair Bridles by Ned Martin, the author states: "This braided black and white horsehair bridle with an engraved silver frontal ornament on the brow band was made by R. F. Ford in the 1970's for a collector who had a lengthy correspondence with him. This is believed to be the last bridle that he made. The bridles of this period tended to be narrow, with leather trimmings. / This bridle rosette combines a braided border, leather with a stitched hair pattern and a small engraved silver button"

Does not include reins or have the bit attached that is pictured in the book. Attached now is a very early blacksmith-made Mexican spade bit.
