Flintlock half stock rifle, .36 cal., 43” browned octagon barrel with inlaid panel signed “J. Lauck”, single key wood stock with brass mounts and patchbox, double set triggers that are working at time of description, beautiful pierced silverinlays, lockplate marked T. G. Edmodson, Baltimore. This gun is in overall very good condition as re-converted back to flintlock from percussion, majority of browned finish remaining; beautiful wood with checkered wrist andconsiderable varnish remaining. Consignor paperwork indicates purchased gun in 1955 from individual who bought the gun circa 1915 in Baltimore, Maryland with a note from that individual and copy of 2 pictures of the person he bought the gun from in front of his Antique Store; also information on Simon Lauck, Sr. (1760-1815) from the Sept. 1993 Gun Report.
