Flintlock Kentucky Rifle, attributed to Jacob Gumpf, Lancaster County, PA, originally made as a fullstock rifle, .45 cal. smoothbore, period shortened to 36-1/2'', curly maple fulltock was made into the halfstock configuration consistent with its later time in use, which probably was in the Western frontier. Fancy brass patchbox has one piercing and is profusely engraved, including four daisies as is frequently used in this region. Condition is very good, as reconverted back to flintlock and period shortened. A very sturdy and attractive rifle. Est.: $1,800-$2,500. (Antique)
