Flemingsburg, KY - $1-$1-$1-$2 1875 Fr. 383/390 The Fleming County NB Ch. # 2323 Uncut Sheet
This magnificent uncut sheet is a true miracle of survival, as it comes from one of the smallest and least likely candidates in the state, a bank so obscure that it issued First Charters only in a town so remote that it never again hosted a National Bank after this institution shut its doors in 1889. This sheet is one of only about two dozen uncut First Charter sheets known from all banks in the country combined, and one of only about ten Series 1875 uncut sheets. It's the only one known from Kentucky and, luckily for collectors, it's a beauty as well, with incredible color, paper quality, and eye appeal. There are folds between each note, and one fold through the sheet, but the overall quality is impeccable and, after all, unique is unique. This is a true Kentucky trophy item, one for which the Gale collection will be long remembered. About Uncirculated.
