Credited in the caption to Eureka photographer A. P. Flaglor, this image shows eight men, two women, and a dog seated inside a partially hewn redwood tree of magnificent proportions. An account of making this photograph may be found in the April 27, 1872 edition of the <I>Weekly Humboldt Times.</B></I> The matt exhibits browning per usual; however, the image retains clarity and good tonal contrasts.
