Frank W. Woolworth typed letter signed on his ''F.W. Woolworth / Woolworth Building'' stationery, dated 13 May 1915. Letter is addressed to the Hon. James Beck, a lawyer and politician. Reads in full: ''My dear Mr. Beck: On April 6th you kindly sent me your book 'The Evidence in the Case' with your autograph and a few lines attached, and I thank you for this wonderful book. I read in the newspapers part of the article at the time it was first published, and I was very much interested in it, and it is with great pleasure that I accept this book from you. Furthermore, you cannot imagine how I enjoyed your speech at the Trust Company dinner at the Waldorf last Thursday night. In fact, I have heard you speak a great many times, and I have told all my friends that I would prefer to hear you speak on any subject than to go to any other kind of entertainment. Now, this is no flattery on my part, but I mean exactly what I say, as I am not in the habit of saying what I don't mean. Again, I thank you. Respectfully yours, F. W. Woolworth''. Letter on one page measures 7'' x 10''. Minor toning, else near fine with a bold, clear signature.
