<B>Five CDVs Showing Confederate POWs At Fort Warren</B></I> from an album compiled by prisoner George A. Preston, Confederate Signal Officer. Preston, a Virginia native, had the foresight and means to engage photographer J. W. Black to make some thirty portraits of Confederates held at Fort Warren in Boston Harbor. The verso of each image has Black's backmark and is signed in pencil by the sitter. Some of the CDVs carry 1864 dates. This grouping includes the following individuals: Major R. D. Crittenden; C. S. Field & Staff; Dr. John Kenifick; C. W. Ringgold of New Orleans; and two different CDVs of Samuel Sterritt.
