<Our item number 112104><B>Fitzsimmons, Robert James &#34;Ruby Robert&#34;.</B> &#40;1863-1917&#41; Boxing&#39;s first triple world champion. English born, he grew up in New Zealand and developed tremendous strength from working as a blacksmith, which helped earn him the reputation of being the hardest puncher in boxing. He moved to the U.S. in 1890 and on January 14, 1891, won the Middleweight title from Jack &#40;Nonpareil&#41; Dempsey. In 1897, he became World Heavyweight champion by beating Gentleman Jim Corbett, landing his legendary solar plexus punch in the 14th round. In 1903, Fitzsimmons defeated world Light-Heavyweight champion George Gardner by a decision in 20 rounds, thus becoming the first boxer to win titles in three weight divisions. <BR><BR>Page from a turn-of-the-century publication showing Fitzsimmons landing his solar plexus blow on James J.
