Produced in 1914 at the Royal Arsenal at Erfurt, this pistol was later arsenal serviced, and at some point passed through the British Proof House at Birmingham. Blade front and tangent rear sights, both with the early style fine adjustment screws, "1914" dated chamber and "crown/ ERFURT" marking on the toggle link. The right side of the barrel extension bears 3 "crown/ gothic letter" proofs, with Imperial Eagle firing proofs on the extension, barrel and breechblock, "crown/ RC" rework stamp on the rear sight base, "crown/ BMP" Birmingham proofs on the left side of the frame and extension and the bore and ton markings on the underside of the barrel. Matching full and partial serial numbers on the frame, barrel, extension, side plate, latch, trigger, sear, safety, grip panels, hold open, extractor, toggle links, breechblock and firing pin. The grips are checkered hardwood, and the nickel magazine is fitted with a wood base.
