Featured in this lot is this First Nations and Pachena Indians carved totems circa 1980's. There are a total of four totems in this collection. The first is from the notable First Nations artist Jimmy John (born 1876 and died in 1978); John Was A Well-known Nuu-chah-nulth Artist Carver Of Totem Poles, Masks And Silver Jewellery Who Began Carving In The Early 20th Century. Inscribed Verso In Pencil Jimmy John. Source: Weavers And Carvers Of Vancouver Island's West Coast Page 82. The second is a polychrome colored hand carved totem with a Thunder Bird and a Sea Bear carved by a Pachena Indian carver out of B.C., Canada. The third is a First Nations sculpture of a thunderbird by Joe Becker from The Musrueam Reserve out of Vancover, B.C. The last is a composite piece in a totem style with black coloration and machine cut grade material. The condition of this collection of Native totems is fiar with some wear and a chip to one of the totems but otherwise shows fair overall condition. The measurements of these totems range from 12 3/4" x 10" x 3 1/8" to 6" x 2 7/8" x 2 1/2". The collective weight of this totem collection is 1lb 8oz.
