This is an example of a early 1920 production Colt Single Action Army revolver in the desirable 32 W.C.F. caliber. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "32 W.C.F." on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, and on the left side of the front under the grip. The partial serial number "79" is marked on the rear cylinder face. The matching assembly number "978" is marked on the right rear of the frame and on the loading gate. The upper left front of the trigger guard bow has a number "1" sub inspectors mark over the Colt "VP" triangle proof. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened hammer and frame, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top and marked "8879" on the insides.

Very fine. The revolver retains 70% original blue finish with edge wear, thinning and areas of smooth gray patina. The frame and hammer retain 90% original bright case colors with some fading and areas of smooth dove gray patina. The replacement grips are very good with a few minor nicks on the bottom edge and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
