According to the included factory letter, this revolver was among 10 shipped to Simmons Hardware Company of St. Louis, Missouri on 1 October 1899. The grips are "Not Listed", otherwise all features are confirmed by the letter. Fixed sights, with the line address atop the barrel and "41 COLT." on the left, two line, three date patent markings on the left side of the frame near the circled Rampant Colt, "7" above the firing pin hole and "498" assembly number. Matching numbers on the frame and grip straps. Checkered Rampant Colt grips.

Condition: Fine, with 50% of the original blue finish, showing areas of mixed gray patina, hints of brown patina and mild spotting, and bright edge wear. A few scratches are visible on the left side of the barrel. Over 30% of the original bright case colors are present on the frame, strongest in the protected areas, with a mixed gray pattern overall. Grips are good as repaired, with mild cracks, small chips and light dings. Mechanically excellent.
