Spectacular matted and framed panoramic photograph showing a large group of firemen posing in front of fire engines on the grounds of the Pan Pacific International Exposition. Total framed dimensions are approx. 16 x 52.5" Matte has text: "Fire Department Panorama, Panama Pacific International Exposition / American-La France Motor Apparatus." At the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, American-LaFrance showcased its advanced motorized fire apparatus, likely including the Type 12 triple combination pumper. Their exhibit highlighted the shift from horse-drawn to motorized firefighting and represented cutting-edge American engineering. The display aligned with the fair's themes of progress and modern preparedness, especially significant after the 1906 earthquake and fire. No photographer listed (possibly obscured by matte). Extremely rare and in very good condition!
