Finely Engraved and Gold Inlaid Winchester Model 63 Semi-Automatic Rifle, signed by Nick Kusmit, #119822A, .22 LR cal., 23'' barrel, scroll and border engraved, with large oval game scene to both sides showing gold-applied squirrels to left panel and gold-applied hares in a meadow to right panel. Additional scroll engraving to top of frame, upper tang, barrel behind rear sight, and both sides of barrel at muzzle. Also engraved on arch of triggerguard and just behind serial number. Forend cap and screws show additional treatment. These scenes are all traditional scenes used in the late 19th and early 20th Century, with very similar examples which are engraved by Nick Kusmit on Page 416 of ''Winchester Engraving'', by R.L. Wilson. (Book is included.) Rifle is signed ''NK'' (Nick Kusmit) at right game scene panel near bottom of border; also marked ''HH'' behind triggerguard, possibly wood carver. Stocks are carved and checkered in Winchester style ''D'' using circassian!
walnut. In original box. Condition is excellent showing little use. Stocks show very minor marks from handling. Action is crisp, bore is bright. Box shows wear and handling. Est.: $8,000-$12,000.
