Finely Engraved 1853 Scottish Powder horn,<p>with presentation inscription; "Presented By D.C. To Charles Henderson, Glasgow", scenes with identifying inscriptions include "Edinburgh Arms"; Hollyrod Palace & Views of Edinburgh"; "St. Andrews Kirk"; "Tron Kirk"; "Nelson's Monument"; "Edinburgh University"; St. Gile's Cathedral"; "Royal Institution"; "C. Herlot's Hospital"; "Register Office"; "St. George's Church"; "Canongate Church"; and carvers inscription near mouth; "Carved By D. Courlay Plumber 1853". Also scene at top with 2 British Men of War ships of the line, a schooner, side wheel steamer and long boat traveling between the two British warships, and several Masonic symbols. Each paneled scene is framed with either geometric, floral or both carvings with wood end plug and original carved wood stopper, total length 14.5", wonderful old polished patina.<p>EXC.
