from the family of Edward L. Griffin, 1891-1988, Hot Springs SD. poet, writer and friend to Badger Clark. Well appointed case belonging to Griffins Grandparents. Set includes 10 various sized cut glass, 1 long rectangle jar missing jar, with sterling top toiletry jars, hallmarked 1870, hand engraved with monogram BLG on lids. Keeping with Victorian fashion one jar contains family locket of hair with note dated 1845. Also includes sterling silver locket with photo of Edward Griffin's Parents, case hallmarked 1861. Travel case features removable top tray, single lower drawer which opens with release button on upper top rim, 4 divided fitted trays, 1 for pocket watch with non functioning pocket watch included. Old hand written note reads "Mothers Wedding Ring" (ring not included). Inner hinges and mechanism gold gilted hand engraved, engraved inner lid panel with original gold embossed leather and velvet, top with inset escutcheon
