Fine quality two shot turn barrel percussion rifle marked A.S. Bisbing located in Lucerne, Pennsylvania showing fancy engraved German silver patch box with ornate German silver trim and inlays. The rifle measures 50” overall with slender 35” round barrels in approximately .40 caliber, 1 rifled and 1 smooth. This maker used German silver to rib the barrels on both sides and also as a housing for ramrod with German silver thimbles. The patch box is lightly engraved and the top of the comb and butt plate are also sheathed with German silver mountings. The trigger guard and drag plate are also engraved German silver. The left side of the stock shows several German silver inlays and engraved side plate. The rifle is very high quality and quite slim and well designed. The stock shows a faint fiddleback grain. The rifle is mounted with double set triggers and the barrel release is located in front of the trigger guard. The condition is very good plus and all original. Est.: $6,000-$12,000.
