Fine quality pin fire double-barreled shotgun signed Le Page Freres A Paris in 16 gauge remaining in near fine original condition with period case. The gun shows 29 7/8” barrels that are beautifully browned with aDamascus pattern of which nearly 100% remains. The patterning in the barrel’s is quite intricate and the patterning on the ribs is very intricate and pretty. The bottom of the barrels show proof marks and nameLeopold Bernard who was a well-recognized Paris barrel maker. The gun shows an under lever release that is nicely pierced and sculpted. The frame and locks are bright metal or French gray. The gun is nicelyStocked in burl walnut and the stock measures 13 5/8” to the end of the steel butt plate. There is a 2” drop at the heel and 1 ½” drop at the comb with slight cast of about 3/8”. The wall thickness measures .29 on eachbarrel. The barrels show some slight roughness in the interior bores and the frame shows some just beginning light rust and minor pitting. The stocks are very good plus condition.
