Fine pencil drawing of an Officer dismounted off of his horse with a soldier holding the horses reigns, signed illegibly dated 1811. Paper label on reverse: "Eugene Louis Lami 1800-90, Col. Bourmont of the 3rd regiment des Gardes d'Honneur, standing by his horse, after Horace Vernet (sold under this title in the artists estate sale and listed so in his catalogue raisonne No. 1238). Coll: Private collection, Monte Carlo from Prince Demidoff de San Donato (Patron of Raffet). Quite possibly be a study for larger work of art. Condition: Good, slight discoloration at bottom 7" x 8.5".
