Fine original unsigned oil painting on canvas in the style of Thomas Moran. Measures approximately 17” x 23 ¼” in 19th century ornate frame. This painting was obtained by Little Johns in our first big art collection which we obtained from the son of the owner of Reynolds’s Art Gallery in New York, who’s father collected this piece during the depression and for his lifetime believed it to be the work of Thomas Moran. Clive Hollingshead noted restorer and art consultant restored and cleaned this painting at the time. Clive stated positively that this was the work of Moran while in Scottland studying under Church but we cannot document this as fact. However this is a masters quality work from the 19th century.
