Fine original oil painting on canvas signed lower left Beaugureau portraying Gen. Cook and Geronimo. The painting measures approximately 34” x 40” not including frame. The condition is near fine with just a few minor storage scratches and could use a minor cleaning. Francis Beaugureau took classes at the Frederic Mizen Academy and the Art Institute of Chicago. He spent most of World War II as a B-17 pilot in England documenting his experiences with realistic paintings of aircraft in combat. After the War, he worked as a commercial artist and portrait painter; he also became a consultant to the United States Air Force, creating art programs and a USAF museum. Est.: $3500-$7000
