Fine custom rifle on Model 30 Remington Express action made by Abe & Van Horn of Los Angeles, CA in 460 Guns and Ammo express caliber on special order for noted collector and big game hunter Robert I. Petersen.Petersen of course was the publisher and CEO of Guns & Ammo Magazine and this rifle was the subject of articles and a labor of love involving Petersen, Abe and Van Horn. The rifle measures 45-1/2” overall with a 24”heavy round barrel mounted with short rib for adjustable iron sight with matching ramp front sight base showing removable and changeable bead. The bolt and release have been case hardened and the action engraved “G & A, EXP. No S1” which signifies Guns and Ammo Express No. 1. The rifle is beautifully stocked in walnut with grain select for strength. The stock is satin finished with crisp checkering and select rosewood fore end cap. The pistol grip cap shows a cast brass inlay with G & A logo. The rifle is finely rust blued and shows the fine quality of both Abe and Van Horn are noted for and Mr. Petersen regarded their work on Big Game
