Niedner lived 1863-1954 and opened his first ship in 1906, worked with Harry Pope, credited for pioneering several cartridges including .22chambered in .22 rimfire with his Dowagiac, Mich 1920-1940 addressed barrel. Niedner lived 1863-1954 and opened his first ship in 1906, worked with Harry Pope, credited for pioneering several cartridges including .22LR and fully established the Niedner Rifle Co. in Michigan manufacturing fine quality custom rifles in 1920. This fine example shows no SN, features 22" round barrel, hooded front sight, original Carl Zeissscope, Griffin and Howe quick release scope base Pat'd Oct. 1931 and Lyman receiver sight. Beautiful English walnut stocks finely checkered forend and wrist, tip and pistol grip cap in horn, original sling eyes intactand fitted with serated steel buttplate. Fine overall condition, small area on left side and top of receiver with thinning blue but hard to detect, stock with original high gloss finish. Shows well cared for condition. Optics are clear, the Winchester marked magazine intact. An absolutely wonderful condition rifle withno excuses by and early premier rifle maker. Modern. Est. 1500-3000
