This Winchester Model 1873 Third Model Lever Action Sporting Rifle was manufactured in 1891 and has a German silver blade front sight and an elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. The top flat of the barrel has the two line address/King's Improvement patent markings along with the caliber "32 W.C.F." at the breech end. The top tang is marked "MODEL 1873" with foliate designs on either side, the bottom tang is marked with the serial number and the cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL.". Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with curved steel buttplate.

Condition: Fine, 50% plus original blue finish remains with the balance a smooth brown patina. There are some spots of oxidation along the barrel and magazine tube as well as the right side of the receiver. There are some scattered light dings and scratches overall. The buttplate and lever have a gray/brown patina with some scattered spots of oxidation. The wood is also fine with scattered light scratches and dings with a few heavier dings concentrated near the toe and bottom rear of the forearm. Mechanically excellent.
