Fine William and Mary walnut scrolled seaweed marquetry chest on stand, circa 1690. The moulded half veneered top and quarter veneered sides inlaid with medallions of scrolling seaweed within concentric bands of leafage. Above a pair of 2 short drawers and 3 long graduated drawers. On a platform base fitted by long drawer and bold bun feet. Footnote:- With replacement locks and handles. The top with severe shrink cracking. Veneer patching throughout. Probably 19th century replacement feet. 104cm high, 102cm wide, 60.5cm deep.
