Fine Unmarked European Flintlock Rifle
This large bore rifled rifle has no maker markings, but is most likely German in origin. Writer believes the gun to have been made in the early to mid 18th century. The rifled barrel has a low blade front sight with the rear sight removed (dovetail slot unfilled). Equipped with double set triggers. All iron furniture including the ornate chiseled side plate. Full length straight grip stock with horn forend cap, cheekpiece, and shotgun style buttplate. The right side of the buttstock has a wooden patch box.
BBL: 33 3/8 inch octagon

Serial Number: NSN

Fine. The metal surfaces have been cleaned at on time and are now beginning to age again, with even pin point pitting on the barrel and some minor flash pitting. The trigger guard sling swivel is absent. The trigger assembly is ill-fitting with the tang not filling the slot completely. The left side of the buttstock has a few minor cracks, otherwise the stock is very good with a few absent chips, some mild scratches, and a few minor dings. The horn end cap has some worm damage (holes) and a few absent chips. Mechanically excellent.
