Fine U.S. Johnston Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol
Brass blade front and groove rear sights, with "US./ JCB/ P" on top of the breech and "H" on the left flat. The lock is fitted with an "R" marked brass flash pan, and marked "US./ R. JOHNSON/ MIDDn CONN/ 1842" between the hammer and frizzen spring. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a single barrel band/ side plate, swivel ramrod, a pair of oval cartouches on the left side and a one piece backstrap/grip cap.

Condition: Very fine as professionally cleaned, with some mild pitting concentrated on the backstrap and trigger guard and light handling marks overall. Stock is also very fine, with exception of a barely noticeable thin hairline crack extending from the front side plate screw and mild pressure dents. Cartouches are both excellent. Mechanically excellent.
