Measuring 41 1/2 inches overall, with a 35 1/2 inch double fuller blade, dated 1849 on the left ricasso, marked "US/WD" on the right, and etched with an illegible name in the right large fuller. Brass dual branch guard, with "WD/J.W.R." on the helmet pommel and twisted brass wire around the leather grip. With an iron sheath, marked "D" on the upper suspension band.

Very fine. Some minor spotting is present on the otherwise excellent blade, with mild handling marks. The fine hilt has taken on a mellow aged patina, with minor handling marks on the very fine leather and wire wrap. The sheath is very good, with scattered spotting and a few small dents.
