<td width="100%">
A very fine silver Antoninianus (Philip I/Philip the Arab), ca.AD245. The coin messures approx. 7/8" diameter and weighs 3.9g. The Antoninianus depicts the portrait of Marcus Julius Philippus (244-249 AD), aka Philip I and Philip the Arab. This coin was minted at the Imperial Roman mint. All Antoninian coins were hand-struck on a silver and copper alloy planchets with silver being the predominate metal. The value is double denarii. From our experience, the average weight of Antoninianus vary up from a little under 1g. This coin weighs at 3.9g. The condition of this coin is quite nice and we assign a Very Fine to Extremely Fine condition designation.
