The auction will be in two parts and will include a live auction to take place at the Shelburne Murray Hill Hotel, 303 Lexington Ave. (@37th. St.) New York, NY on March 2, 2002 with an absentee auction closing March 6, 2002 at 10:00pm Eastern Time.
Dozens of lots shall include prominent figures and events of the Civil War and the American Revolution, including a proposal in the hand of Signer Arthur Middleton calling for the death penalty for people caught trading with the British; fine Civil War correspondences and images; a letter from James Madison to Thomas Jefferson detailing the faculty recruitment efforts for the University of Virginia.
