Fine Remington New Model Army Conversion Revolver
Manufactured circa 1863-1875, this was one of the major handguns of the Civil War. This was subsequently converted to cartridge, post Civil War. The top barrel flat is marked: "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858 / E.REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. NEW YORK. U.S.A / NEW-MODEL". Serial number 100482/76/59 is located on the bottom barrel flat and left side of the frame under the grip. Several small one letter inspection marks are visible. Pinch blade front sight and grooved top strap near sight. Casehardened hammer and brass trigger guard. Smooth two piece walnut grips. The right side of the frame above the ejector housing is stamped "C A 196", further research could prove useful.

Fine. 30% original blue finish remains on the barrel strong in sheltered areas with thinning down the length the balance is a mottled brown patina. The loading lever retains 60% original blue finish thinning along high points. The cylinder and frame both retain 70% original blue finish exhibiting high point edge wear light spotting and some overall minor surface scratches. The hammer still retains strong brilliant original case colors. The trigger guard has taken on a pleasant aged brass patina. The grips are fine with light pressure marks concentrated on the butt. Mechanically fine.
