Approximately 25,000 Model 1875s were manufactured between 1875 and 1889. Marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. N.Y. U.S.A" on top of the barrel and "44", indicating .44-40 caliber, stamped on the left side of the frame. The serial number is marked on the left side of the grip frame under the grip panel. There are hand written markings on the backs of both grips. Left grip: "Dawson / YT / DW Parcher". Right grip: "DWP Deozo / 1909" with the remaining illegible. Consignor notes state that D.W. Parcher is said to have been prospecting in the Yukon when he had this gun. The butt is stamped "P P" in large font. Fitted with smooth plain grips.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 85% original nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina The cylinder has some minor pitting. The front sight has been reshaped during period of usage with an added copper insert and a lanyard staple and loop have been added to the butt. The grips are very fine with 85% of the varnish remaining and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
