A) This is a very fine set of Empire period Austrian flintlock pistols made in the style of the French Boutels. Dovetail silver blade front and notch rear sights, with a slightly flared muzzle, fine decorative gold leaf patterns at muzzle and breech, "1" on the tang and "Colnot" on the top flat. Gold inserts are present in the flashpan and touchhole, with engraving on the lock and hammer, roller frizzen spring, high pan shield and gold inlaid "in Wien" on the lock. Full length stock, with a horn tipped ramrod, relief chiseled steel mounts and a fish scale pattern grip section with flared butt.

A) Very fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina and light handling marks overall. Mild spotting is visible around the flashpan, with a bright gray patina forming on the lock. Stock is also very fine, with a few hairlines, mild pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.

B) Very fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing a brown patina and scattered spotting. The otherwise fine stock has a wrist that was one broken and mended during the period of usage, with dings and scratches on the balance. Mechanically excellent.
