the firm of Brander & Potts was active in the early 19th Century, with Mr. Brander being called upon to testify in the high treason trial of James Watson following the events of the Spa fields Riot, where an anti-monarchy mob sacked several gunsmiths in the Minories area before an abortive attack on the Tower of London. Dovetailed silver blade front and notch rear sights, with engraving of arms and shields on the tang, "70/ MINORIES/ LONDON" on the breech, and a fine twist steel pattern on the barrel. The lock plate is lightly floral engraved, with geometric designs on the hammer, a roller equipped frizzen spring, high fence, and "BRANDER/ & POTTS" below the flash pan. Checkered stock, with a brass tipped ramrod, silver forearm tip, engraved finger rest trigger guard, silver inscription plate on the wrist and a round butt.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel shows 95% of the original brown finish, with some minor wear and strong pattern. 60% of the blue remains on the trigger guard. Half of the darkened case colors remain, with the metal having turned a smooth gray overall. Stock is good, with a number of dents concentrated around the tang and some light scratches. Mechanically excellent.

Condition: Very fine, with 90% of the original brown finish on the barrel, with a strongly defined twist pattern and mild spotting. 30% of the original blue is present on the trigger guard. The casehardened components have turned a smooth gray patina, with some traces of the original pattern. Stock is very fine, with pressure dents concentrated around the wedge and a few light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
