Fine Pair of Attractively Inlaid European Flintlock  Rifle Butt  Pistols -A) European Flintlock Pist
A) Brass blade front and drift adjustable rear sights, with scroll engraving at the muzzle and breech. No makers marks are visible. Engraved lock, with scroll designs on the hammer and birds on the lock, one on either side of the hammer, and the trigger guard is engraved with a stripe down the middle and a ball shaped finial. Smooth full length rifle butt stock, with a scroll and zig-zag scrimshawed bone tip, zig-zag decorated bone ramrod head, extensive scroll and dot inlays on the sides, top and bottom, a pair of floral screw escutcheons and birds opposite the lock plate, a rabbit in an oval panel on the comb, 2 more birds on the right side of the butt over a floral bone accented patchbox cover, a flower on the underside and a raised comb with decorative carving and a bone scene of a man holding off a bear with a spear.

Condition: Fine. The barrel, lock and trigger guard show a bright appearance overall, with a few dark spots in the low areas, light dings on the barrel, and scattered handling marks overall. The frizzen has been refaced with a well fitted brazed-on plate. Stock is also fine, with a few cracks and filler material visible on the forearm and around the lock, light pressure dents, loose trigger guard and a few bubbles in the well aged inlaid sections. Mechanically very fine.

Stock is also fine, with a few small cracks and chips overall, along with light pressure dents. Inlaid segments are well aged. Mechanically very good.
