Serial Number: 275866
Condition: Very fine. The rifle retains 60% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The receiver retains traces of finish in the protected areas with the balance a gray patina. The wood is very fine with a long hairline crack near the upper tang, a couple pressure dents on the forearm (right side), and some chipping near the upper tang, along with some minor dings and scratches. The stock cartouches are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent. A very fine, totally original, extremely early production U.S. M1903 Springfield rifle built as a .30-06 and not a conversion from .30-03. Highly desirable!
