Manufactured in 1856. The revolver has a blue finish with casehardened hammer and loading lever. The cylinder features the roll engraved cabin and Indian scene. The top barrel flat is marked with the pointing finger, "COLT'S PT./1855" flanked by Maltese crosses followed by "ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." flanked by Maltese crosses. The butt and cylinder have matching numbers. Fitted with a nicely figured and varnished one piece walnut grip.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel and frame retain 75% original blue finish showing scattered flaking with the exposed areas having a crisp smooth gray patina. The barrel marking is crisp and clear. The cylinder retains 30% original finish mixed with smooth brownish gray patina. The cylinder has a clear scene and marking. The hammer and lever retain 90% bright vivid original case colors. The high figured grip is excellent retaining 97% original "piano finish" varnish with some very minor lower edge wear and a few minor dings. The action is fine.
