The revolver has an 8 inch barrel and blue finish, casehardened hammer, fire blue trigger and brass trigger guard. The top barrel flat is marked "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEW YORK. U.S.A./NEW-MODEL". The matching serial number is marked on the bottom barrel flat and on the left side of the frame under the grip. Small single letter inspection marks "R", "D", "C" and "W" are stamped on most components. Fitted with smooth walnut grips with a crisp boxed "BH" cartouche on the lower left side and a "D" on the bottom of both panels. Comes with a full Remington Arms percussion cap tin.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 70% original blue finish with flaking on the barrel, loading lever and cylinder, thinning on the grip straps and a small amount of minor oxidation on the upper back strap. There are numerous minor dings present on the forward frame and barrel with some minor pitting on the recoil shields. The trigger guard has an attractive aged patina. The grips are excellent with raised feathered grain, crisp cartouche, and some very minor scattered storage and handling marks. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
