The round brass barrel has a swelled octagonal tulip muzzle. The square block rear sight and inverted "V" front sight are integral with the barrel. The barrel is decorated with silver wires inlaid in ocean wave formations. The Clematis blossom Mum used by the Utagawa family is inlaid in silver behind the rear sight. The lock is of the snapping type with an internal mainspring.

Fine. All of the brass has an attractive aged patina. The ramrod is absent. The stock is also fine showing some minor nicks and dents. Nearly all of the silver inlay remains and has darkened attractively with age. Mechanically fine.
