This is a fine original example of a Colt 1873 Single Action Army revolver that was manufactured in late 1892 or early 1893. The top of the barrel is roll-marked with the standard one-line, Colt factory address legend: "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". The left side of the barrel marked: "45 COLT." and the underside of the barrel is stamped with the caliber designation "45" just ahead of the frame. The left side of the frame is roll-marked with the Colt 'three-date/two-line' patent markings followed by the encircled Rampant Colt trademark. The inside of the loading gate is stamped with the assembly number "527". It is fitted with an original set of unmarked/unnumbered two-piece, black, hard rubber grips are checkered with the Rampant Colt trademark in an oval at the top.

Condition: Fine with 40% of the original blue finish still remaining overall, mostly in the protected areas on the barrel and ejector housing with the balance of the guns having turned a gray patina finish. The frame and hammer has traces of case colors, mostly in the protected areas with the rest of the metal surface being a silver/gray patina. The grips are in very good condition showing much wear across the face of each grip. The serial number, "145894" is stamped on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the other parts being unnumbered. A fine representative example of a Black Powder Colt Single Action Army revolver.
