Auction Details
Bob and Delores were collectors before the era of price guides or collector books. They purchased quality, often unusual antiques while traveling around to antique stores and auctions in the 1950's to the 1970's. Delores kept meticulous notes on each of their acquisitions, after the purchase, she would research, inventory, and tag each piece. You may notice remnants of Delores’ inventory tags remaining on some items. They bought with purpose, as they intended to open an antique shop in their retirement. The shop was never opened, but the collection has remained together and on offer to you as part of this exciting 500+ lot auction. The sale includes: fine Victorian decorative glass and ceramics by most of the important English, German and American firms. Many of these pieces are of monumental proportions. Find exceptional art glass by Tiffany, Steuben, Quezal, Galle and an exceptional collection of Lalique, including a rare “Sirens” perfume. A generous offering of Moorcroft pottery in various patterns and forms. You will also find numerous lots of Sterling Silver dating from the Georgian to Edwardian periods. This includes several flatware sets, tea services, and impressive pieces by Tiffany, Birks, and Wallace, just to name a few. A large gathering of important lamps by: Tiffany, Handel, and Pairpoint – including the rare “Landing of the Pilgrims”, and “Garden of Allah” reverse-painted table lamps. Bronzes by J.P Schmidt Felling, Otto Rimke and marble sculptures by Ferdinando Vichi and Joseph Edgar Boehm. The sale will also be of interest to the collector of fine jewellery as several pieces are on offer. A very large, well-selected gathering with one common theme: quality.
