<Our item number 135957><B>Fine American War of 1812 Contract Sabre.</B> With scabbard by &#34;N. Starr&#34; &#40;Nathan Starr, Middletown, Conn.&#41;, circa 1812-1813. 33¾ inch curved single edge blade marked; &#34;N. Starr,&#34; &#34;P&#34; &#40;PROVED&#41; by; &#34;H H P&#34; &#40;Henry H. Perkin&#41;. Black painted steel scabbard with minor dents. Steel hilt/guard marked; &#34;P&#34;. Grip is leather covered wood. A very nice example of America&#39;s first Government Contract sword maker. Overall length: 40 inches.
