SMS Charlotte has an interesting history as the last sailing German warship, as a participant in the Lüders affair, & the only ship in the history of the German navy to be stricken and then re-commissioned (to serve at the outbreak of WWI). Not only this, but during one of its final cruising years, its crew helped put out a fire in Santiago de Cuba (c1909). The ship was built for the Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial Navy), and served as a training vessel which went on several cruises for training purposes. This impressive photobook documents Charlotte's travels from 1907-1908, with very good pictures and captions describing stops (written in German). The pages and photographs are in very good condition, with slight toning. The book is in good condition with some foxing on the covers, 50% detached spine, and some slight peeling on the binding edge of the covers. Book measures about 13x9.75x1.3", with about 20 pages, and about 120+ pictures. Most pages have 4 photos on each side (2-sided).
