Featuring a vintage decorative cabin shaped tin. This tin is beautifully decorated. Statements on the outside of the tin are: West Virginia Mountains - Ritchter's Maple House Of Pickens, West Virginia - Absolutely Pure Maple Syrup - 16.9 fluid ounces. The bottom of the tin also tells some history of maple syrup from the Indians point of view which is: The Indians called it "SINZIBUKWUD." The Indians taught the first white settlers how to tap maple trees in the spring, then evaporated the sweet sap until it became maple syrup. In Ben Franklin's time, plans were afoot to make America self-sufficient in sugar production, using maple syrup. Also on the tin is these words: SIROP D'ERABLE ABSOLUMENT PUR. A very decorative tin which shows on one end two little girls and a horse; one setting on the horse and one holding the reins. The other side shows a small boy pouring water in a bowl for the lovely collie dog. Snow covers the ground on all sides. All beautiful winter scenes.
