The mirror is bevelled and is held in place by a brown velvet pad that allows the hand mirror to be placed face up on a dressing table without scratching the surface of the dressing table. The mirror has clouding and some black marks. The frame has a putti peering over a blank cartouche at the top where initials may be engraved. On each side there is a winged bare breasted lady and at the base of the mirror there is the face of a putti. The copper is "bleeding" through the silver plate at certain raised parts. The velvet pad and the mirror are removable for resilvering or replacement.
