Fighting Stiletto, by John Nelson Cooper (1906-1987), 5-1/2'' double-edged blade, 10'' overall, chocolate brown quilted micarta V-42 style handle with double brass accents, brass crusher-type pommel and hilt, with factory engraved consignor's initials lightly done to reverse of hilt (HAN); obverse of ricasso marked with Cooper eagle logo, in original multi-pieced leather sheath. Original receipt dated August 1973 is included from Cooper Knives, Burbank, CA. Cooper knives are highly prized and seldom offered for sale, especially the fighting knives. This knife is basically a 2/3s scale custom version of the well-known American V-42 type fighting knife. It is as finely balanced as any fighting knife, English or American, that we have handled. The quality of workmanship is exquisite. Condition is excellent with just the slightest mellowing to brass accents and minor darkening from age to leather sheath, with some thinning to the brown tanning at retention strap. Est.: $500-$750.
