Fighting Irish Civil War Display. Fighting Irish Civil War Display.
Fighting Irish Civil War Display. This lovely display was put together by R.J. Helmicki to honor the Irish Americans and immigrants who fought for the Union Army in the Civil War. During the Civil War the Irish Brigade was an authorized unit of the Union Army. It consisted of the 69th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, the 63rd New York, and the 88th New York; the 28th Massachusetts was added a bit later. All four of these regiments are represented on this display by their respective patches. Also included are Union belt buckles and other Irish patches. A reproduction of a Colt revolver is placed in the center of the display, topped off by a replica of an Irish clay pipe. The final piece is a photograph of an Irish Soldier memorial. All combined this is a fantastic tribute to the Irish regiments of the Union Army. Perfect for the collector or enthusiast who focuses on ethnic/foreign units of the Union/Confederate Armies! 24" x 16".
